چکیده
Previous research in the area of mobile transactions has mainly concentrated in developing schemes for processing conventional transactions, location management, and data broadcast. No one has examined how such mobility issues as location dependent data impact the actual deenition of a transaction in the mobile computing environment. There is a distinct lack of work related to data classiication and developing new transaction models for the mobile environment. The objective of this paper is to ll this void. First we examine the eeect of mobility on transaction processing and commitment, speciically examining the impact of location dependent data. We then develop a transaction model targeted for the mobile platform, propose new commitment protocols for mobile transactions and present a formal treatment of location dependent data. Our work presented opens up a new direction in mobile computing data processing. The ultimate goal of this paper is to spawn new research in the mobile computing arena.

A hybrid approach for database intrusion detection at transaction and inter-transaction levels
Nowadays, information plays an important role in organizations. Sensitive information is often stored in databases. Traditional mechanisms such as encryption, access control, and authentication cannot provide a high level of confidence. Therefore, the existence of Intrusion Detection Systems in databases is necessary. In this paper, we propose an intrusion detection system for detecting attacks...
متن کاملTaurus: A Parallel Transaction Recovery Method Based on Fine-Granularity Dependency Tracking
Logging is crucial to performance in modern multicore main-memory database management systems (DBMSs). Traditional data logging (ARIES) and command logging algorithms enforce a sequential order among log records using a global log sequence number (LSN). Log flushing and recovery after a crash are both performed in the LSN order. This serialization of transaction logging and recovery can limit t...

During more than a decade, many proposals and standards have been designed to deal with the mobility issues; however, there are still some serious limitations in basing solutions on them. In this paper we discuss the possibility of handling mobility at the application layer. We do this while revisiting the conventional implementation of the Two Phase Commit (2PC) protocol which is a fundamental...

The preservation of local autonomy and the atomic commitment of global Lransactions present conllieting exigencies to the design of mullidalabase transaction management systems. In this paper, we investigate a forward recovery approach to the atomic commitment of global transactions while al the same lime preserving local autonomy. A theoretical basis for the application of forward recovery to ...
متن کاملPower Imbalance in Collaboration Relationships
Power plays a significant role in many organizational theories such as resource dependency theory and transaction cost economics. It allows the strong companies to win more than others, or more broadly, to coerce others to do what they would not otherwise do. Power can seriously affect the confidence and commitment between parties. This paper aims to analyze the power concept in inter-organizat...
